Austin Hill Wins on
Atlanta Road Course
Austin Hill is making the transition from the Legends Semi-Pro ranks to the Legends Pro ranks look easy.  After only a handful of starts, Austin has already started a winning streak and he did it on one of his favorite tracks, the infield road course at Atlanta Motor Speedway (GA).

“It was a real good race for us,” said Austin.  “We led every lap of the race and I don’t think I have ever driven that fast around the road course in Atlanta.   Jeff Haynie and I had a pretty good battle going back and forth.  He tried to get me going into the corners and I just kept him in my mirror the whole race.  We pulled it off.”

For Austin, it was his second-straight win after his triumph at the Watermelon Capital Speedway (GA) just the week before.  The victory was impressive since Austin beat every Pro car, every Masters car and every Semi-Pro in the field to score his win.

“It’s so much fun to run the road course.  You have to be out of control to go fast there,” said Austin.  “I like the breaking, the up shifting and the down shifting.  It makes it harder.  It’s still a lot of fun.”

Meanwhile, Dalton Hill was impressive in his first road course start.  From the start of practice to start of the feature race, Dalton took six seconds off his lap times around the infield course.  He finished third in the Bandolero Bandits class.

“It was a lot of fun running the infield course,” said Dalton.  “We had a real good car and I can’t wait to run the road course again.”

The Hill Brothers Race Team will be using the next few weeks to catch up on rest and family time. They are getting ready to celebrate the Holiday season and the birth of a new racing year.
