Top-Five Runs for Both Hill Brothers
The Hill Brothers race team took another trip Lanier National Speedway (GA) after the Atlanta Motor Speedway (GA) race was cancelled on them. Nevertheless it was familiar territory for both Austin and Dalton.
The Semi-Pro class has been tough all season long for Austin. Several strong cars have made for an interesting race week after week. This past Saturday was no exception.
“We had a fast car all day,” said Austin. “We were up in front. I fell back to fourth and I was coming back up through the field. When I did I was passing Dylan Ames and we went off into the corner. He just punted me out of the way, so we went to the back straightaway and I got him back. Then he hit me one more time and we started messing around with each other.”

After all the beating and banging on the race track, Austin settled for another top-five finish as the leaders drove away. His fourth-place finish was just icing on the cake as the season-long championship is coming to a close with Austin Leading the points. Mathematically Austin has already won the title with a few races yet to be run.
Younger brother Dalton had a good run in the Bandolero Bandits division. He came home fourth overall and third in his division. He has had several solid runs in the last few weeks, which is his rookie season in the Bandoleros after moving up from Quarter Midgets.
“The car was good, but then at the end it got a little tight,” said Dalton. “Charlie Gresham kept on cutting down on me because he didn’t have any mirrors. I was on the inside of him a lot of times and he slowed me down a lot.
“The Bandoleros are really different then the Quarter Midgets. If you slam on the brakes you just spin around and in Quarter Midgets, you just slow down a lot.”
Both Hill brothers will be back in action again this weekend at Lanier National Speedway on September 20th.
