Austin Hill and Hill Brothers Racing Have Solid Weekend
It was a long weekend for the Hill Brothers race team as they traveled all over the Southeast to race and chase national points in the Legends Semi-Pro division. The trip found driver Austin Hill winning a pair of races and grabbing a third at Bristol Motor Speedway (TN). For Hill it was his first trip to the world’s fastest half mile.
“It was my first time racing at Bristol,” said Hill. “It was really awesome. I think we were doing 100 miles per hour on the straightaways. It was really quick in the turns as well.”

Prior to the feature Hill spun in practice. The crew worked on his primary car as he practiced his back-up. Hill timed in 19th fastest in a field of 24 cars with his primary car and flew through the field when the green flag fell due to the repairs his team made to his car.
“We got the primary car fixed and we came to the front,” explained Hill. “If I had a little more time I think I could have won the race.”
Earlier in the weekend Austin won a pair of features at Mobile International Speedway (AL). With the low car count at MIS, the team decided to head to Bristol. There was a plan to race Lanier National Speedway (GA), but rain washed out the Georgia track.
“We went up to Mobile and the car was really good. I almost lost it in qualifying, but we got it on the pole and we won the race. We also had to run with the Pro cars and one of the drivers was blocking me pretty good, but we still won both nights so I can’t complain.”
Hill will be back in action this weekend at the Speedrome in Indianapolis (IL). His younger brother Dalton will be racing his Bandolero in the Bandits division as well.
